MVSU Holiday Event

Note: We know not every will be available the day of the event, but if members of your troop want to provide decorations, etc. it would be tremendously appreciated. If you contact us in advance, we can make arrangements to pick up the decorations. Thank you! Girls who have helped provide decorations qualify for the patch- they do not have to be present at the event. The patch is pictured at left. They are $2, cash. Contact Mandy if you need to order patches. The last day to order is December 17.

Event Date: Saturday December 17, 2-4pm. In case of yucky weather we will meet at 2pm, deliver the goods, and then leave.
Where: the Austin Ronald McDonald House, 1315 Barbara Jordan Blvd. It's in the parking lot of Dell Children's Hospital.
What to Bring: Everything you may have for the event: decorations, coco and cookies, stocking stuff, etc.
What to Wear: Dress for the weather, as we will be outside. All girls should wear their vests over whatever outdoor gear they have on. Be festive! Santa hats would be fun!
RMHC wishlist
Refreshments We will have a small Coco and Cookies station inside at the event. Only 12 of us our allowed in at once, so we'll take turns inside. Troops should bring boxed cookies- Please avoid homemade treats, as the RMHC has to follow rules laid out by the Good Samaritan Food Donation Act. Any food items not eaten at the event will be donated to the House's pantry. Of course, our girls will be able to have a treat, so it would be best for each troop to bring a box to eat and a box for the House. We also need coco and small disposable cups . You can also bring fun toppers, like whipped cream, marshmallows, mini candy canes, or sprinkles.

Swaps Party

Wednesday Sept 28 As a form of a Going Away Party, Amri would love for her Scout friends to come to a SWAPS party at our house. Each girl should make at least 11 SWAPS, one to give to each troop-mate. She should make them ahead of time- we won't be doing it at the party. If you use safety pins, either buy the "coil-less" variety (often in the jewelry dept of craft stores) or be sure you can attach the SWAP without the decorations falling off or interfering with proper closure once pinned on your friend. It would be nice if the maker puts her name on her SWAPs for memory's sake.

Kids can arrive as early as they want to (after school.) Like our other parties, Bring food/drinks- we'll all eat dinner together around 6:30. Around 7pm I will host my Last Court of Awards and the kids can trade swaps. Moms can socialize, girls can play.

I don't have anything major planned activity-wise. We could watch a movie together if we wanted. You are welcome to stay as late as you wish.
