Notes:
Alexis was sick tonight and did not come to the meeting. Girls made thank you cards for the businesses that donated to our lemonade stand's success. Amri, Atalli, Ariana, and Emonee were signed off on Sounds of Music #6 for attending the opera at UT. Girls that could not make it can attend any live music performance as a supplement. Amri, Atalli, Ariana, and Emonee turned in their Career Try It badge worksheets. The Bats worksheet and the Birds worksheet were added to the girls' Badge Books. Thanks to Madison's grandma for bringing in pastries for snack. Upcoming Events:
In addition to Monday night meetings:
Fri 5/21 6-7:30pm Bridging Ceremony for local Girl Scouts. Whole Troop attendance is strongly encouraged. Girls should wear their vest and brown bottoms (shorts, skirt, pants, etc.) I suggest purchasing some shorts, as we will wear the same thing to the Dell Diamond in July.
At the Ceremony, girls in our troop will receive a membership star with a green disk to signify the completion of their first year as a Brownie.
Amri and Madison should both currently have one star with a blue disk for their previous year as a Daisy.
Stars are worn on the vest, under the troop numbers. By glancing at a Scout's vest, you can quickly determine how long she has been a Girl Scout.
We will also hold our next Court of Awards at the Bridging Ceremony. Any completed Badge Worksheets need to be turned in by the Mon 5/17 meeting. Additionally, we will be handing out Cookie Prizes if I can get them from our Service Unit Director in time.
I will make a post about the Bridging Ceremony once I get a more detailed e-mail from the other Troop leaders.
Sun 7/11- Mon 7/12 Overnighter at the Dell Diamond. Info about this is now available at the bottom of the Troop Calendar. I will be contacting you all soon for ticket inquiries. Female sleepover tickets are $17 each (your Girl Scout will be covered by the troop.) Game only tickets (open to general public) are $7 each. Please find out how many of each ticket you will be needing. I will collect the money from everyone and pay all at once so that we can all sit together.

Original Post:
Girls should have completed a Careers Activity (#1 and/or #2) this past week, on their own time. We will share their findings and give credit tonight. Most of the girls will now have earned this badge- to be received at our next Court of Awards.
Tonight we will continue work on our Sounds of Music Try It.
We will also share any other at-home work the girls have done. Here are a couple that have been "assigned" in the past few weeks:
- pg. 94 Earth and Sky #5 - Observe creatures of the air (birds, insects, bats, etc.) Take notes in your GS notebook. Share your notes with the troop.
- pg. 154 Listening to the Past #1 - A worksheet was handed out a few weeks ago for interviewing adults about how our community has changed. Complete this worksheet and turn in.
