Meeting Monday May 24, 6-7pm

This event has passed.
Attendance:
Amri
Atalli
Mikayla
Emonee
Brigid

Notes:
The girls took turns talking about the Try Its they are working on at home. We played "What's that Badge?" The girls did very well. Thank you to Mikayla for being snack-passer-outter.

The girls voted on which activities we'll do for the Bat Badge.  We had already planned on doing Activities #1 and #5 when we volunteer with Bat Conservation International. The other two activities will be #12 and #6. We won't do the play until we've done the other activities so that the girls have time to educate themselves about bats, write the play, and learn their lines. (All of which may count towards other various Try Its.) Additionally, they will need an audience.

Girls also voted on the next two badges they'd like to work on: Science Wonders took first place. Second place was a large tie: Water Everywhere, Her Story, Make It Eat It, and Don't Mess With Texas. We'll work on other badges as well, but our main focus will be the ones the girls voted for.

Brigid received her Dell Diamond ticket order form.

Soon we will start a new habit at our meetings. When the girls arrive they will be given 3 clothes pins to attach to their vests. If they misbehave, they'll have to turn in a clothes pin. If they turn in all of their pins, they will be asked to sit in the hall. I doubt it will come to missing out on much, but we do only have an hour together. I would love for us to be able to complete 1-2 activities per meeting (plus snack and opening/closing.) This would result in each girl earning one or two badges per month.

Girls that can remember what type of tree grows outside the church- the big one they climb in- will receive a piece of chocolate at our next meeting.

Upcoming Events:
We are postponing the field trip we had tentatively set for Sat 5/29. I hadn't realized that's Memorial Day Weekend and lots of people are going out of town. We will continue with our Monday night meetings- next field trip will be our Community Service Outing to Night of the Bat, Sun June 6. I need to know how many parents and kids plan on attending- Bat Conservation International will try to get us all t-shirts. Our Troop Sleepover is scheduled for Fri 6/11.

Origianl Post:

Today we will do some planning for future events.  We will also discuss any Try Its the girls have been working on at home.
We'll choose the next few badges we want to work on as a troop.

We'll also play "What's that badge?" so be ready to be quizzed about your uniform!

If anyone needs patches sewn on, let me know.

Dell Diamond Ticket Orders are due soon. I understand that some people will be out of town for Memorial Day. Please let me know if you will be here Mon 5/31. We can cancel the meeting if no one will be available.
