Badge books were signed for the girls that volunteered at Night of the Bat, Activities #1, #5, and #12.
Emonee and Amri did not have their badge books today.
Though Mikayla was unable to attend Night of the Bat, she participated in our bat discussion today, where we reviewed the questions for Activities #5 and #12- and therefore was signed off on said Activities.

Notes:
Activity #1 was to visit the Congress Street Bridge and view the bats. We did visit the bridge (those girls will get credit for that on the Explore Austin patch next week) but the bats were feeling lazy that night and we did not get to see them in flight. We did, however, get to see 2 bats at the live presentation. Girls should make efforts to watch the sky at twilight. We discussed ways to tell if what you are seeing is a bat or a bird. If they take notes on what they see (for ANY sky creatures) it will count as an Activity for the Earth and Sky Try It.

This week girls should come up with ideas for their bat play. The play will be written by the troop as a whole- but we will make an attempt to include everyone's ideas.

Our Troop Sleepover is being rescheduled. I will call you all when a date is settled upon. We are not limited to just one sleepover. If you would like to volunteer your home for one, please let me know and I will tell you the restrictions/rules.

Original Post:

Today we'll sign all of the girls books for their Bat Patch activities. We'll also start planning the bat play.  We'll do another activity as well.

Girls that weren't here last week will have the opportunity to identify the tree that grows outside the church.  Clues are available here.
