Badge Activities Completed:
We completed four activities from the Let's Pretend Try -It, meaning all girls in attendance earned the badge (except the 2 that already have it...)   

Notes:

Next week we will work on the Creative Composing Try It. Girls need to think of their absolute best memory- like the day she got a puppy, or when her family went to Disney World, etc. They will each be composing a performance to share with the troop (and parents) at our August Court of Awards. Girls can do a short one-person play, write a poem or song, perform an interpretive dance, etc. The only rule is that she has to compose and perform it herself. Over the next few weeks she should develop a plan: pick a memory, pick a performance art, develop her performance, come up with a costume (if any) to wear during her performance.

The August Court of Awards/Best Memory Performance will not be held until after our field trip to Annie (8/7.) I'll let you know when a definite date is picked.

Reminders:

• We have two field trips coming up, so check the calendar.
• The GS Shop will be reopening this week. Check your Badge binders and finish up any near-complete badges. I'll announce a deadline soon.
• The Troop Snack pantry is very low- please bring in snacks and juice drinks (no Red 40, please.) Thanks!
• Please RSVP about the Pirates of the Pedernales play (Sat. 7/31, 11am) ASAP.

Original Post:
Everyone needs to be sure to bring their Badge binders today. The shop will be re-opening this week. We'll be having our next Court of Awards in August, so be sure to turn in any completed Badge Sheets ASAP.
Also wear your vests. We need to update the list of who's earned what so that we are being as productive as possible at our meetings.

Performance Arts seems to be our current theme. We have two field trips coming up- both to see musicals. We'll be working on coordinating Try-Its. Think: singing/dancing/costumes/acting/etc.

Please check the calendar for field trip information.

The troop snack pantry is running low- please bring in a pre-packaged snack item and a box of juice drinks. Remember we have a scout with adverse reactions to Red 40, so let's be considerate of that.
