The activities at the Johnson Space Center Overnight Camp focus on the Junior Aerospace Merit Badge- which might actually be discontinued. It'll be fun anyway. The website says they will "construct and fly a shuttle glider, design a spacecraft for a specific mission, discover what the astronauts eat, and design a protective spacesuit for a shuttle astronaut."
Scouts and Chaperones will enjoy the above activities, plus dinner, a light morning breakfast, Giant Screen films, private tram tour, and a next day visit to tour Space Center Houston on our own. Additional family members cannot stay the night, but can join us in the morning for our self-guided tour. You can purchase $10 discounted tickets the evening of the Camp-In for the family members that will be joining us the next day. Tickets are not available the next morning. Family members should meet us at the front doors at 8:45 am.
Scouts will be paid for by the troop. Orderforms will be sent home soon. Cancellations must be received a minimum of 6 weeks prior to the Camp-in. If the troop pays for your child and she does not attend, you will be responsible for reimbursing the troop $60.
Emonee plans to join us at the Camp-in, seeing as she moved to Houston. It is also our intention to deliver our Lemonade Day proceeds to Atalli's cousin while we are in town.
T-shirts (youth and adult) are available for $15, additional patches are $5. The patch is pictured above, the shirt below. Shirt and patch designs subject to change.
