Badge Activities Completed:
In addition to the Austin Summer Musical for Children fun patch, this field trip qualifies towards an Explore Austin patch activity. Many of the girls have nearly completed the Explore Austin patch- others have already earned it. Great job getting out and about, guys!
We watched the play, got the actors' autographs, and then explored the museum. Afterward we went next door to the library.
Reminders:
- Girls need to bring a written list of some of their most fond memories to our next meeting. They will be deciding on one Monday.
- We need snacks and drinks.
- This Saturday evening (Aug. 7) is our next field trip.
Original Post:
Austin Summer Musical for Children offered a performance of Pirates of the Pedernales just for Girl Scouts*, but the theatre only holds so many and they were fully booked. As an alternative, we can see a (not just Girl Scouts) show Saturday July 31. It begins at 11am. Girls should wear their vests.
Please Note That Our Meet Up Time Has Changed.
We will meet in front of the theatre at 10:30. Please be on time so that we can all sit together. It is likely that the theatre will be packed.
The performance itself is free, as is parking- please read the comment below from Bill for more details. I ordered 16 tickets, so if you have additional people joining, let me know as soon as possible.
Location:
The George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center
Boyd Vance Theatre
1165 Angelina St.

More info/map available here.
*Patches are available purchase at the performance. The troop will be purchasing the girls' patches. Your understanding is appreciated in the event that they are sold out.

Hi. This is Bill from the Austin Summer Musical for Children. I came across your site when I was publicizing the performances. There is free parking at the The George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center. There is also some parking on the street. I hope that you all come see the show!
