Operation Cookie Drop!

Operation Cookie Pack is when we load all the donated cookies and handmade cards/letters and prepare them to be shipped overseas to US soldiers. There were two packs available to us this year. Please read the details below.


Saturday, March 12. Mustang Valle Service Unit Cookie Pack
This event runs from 10am-3pm.  Volunteers are welcome at 9:30 to help set up and until 3:30 or 4pm to help clean up. I plan to arrive in time for set up. This is a come and go event, but as far as I know the Service Unit only has 27 cases to pack so it may not take the full time. You do not have to be on the RSVP list to show up at this event.

Special Instructions:

• Each girl should bring a box of GALLON sized ziplock bags. Some cookies have to be shipped in sleeves rather than boxes, and this helps ensure freshness.

• We made notes/cards as a troop, but many more are needed. Please take a little time to make some extras and bring them with you. You can include drawings or a brief letter. Sunday, March 13. GSCTX Council Cookie Pack

Troop 1563 is signed up for the 2pm time slot. Please be on time. The event ends at 5pm. You must be on the RSVP list for this event. To those on the RSVP list that frequently bring tagalongs- I have informed Council that they may or may not be coming.

Special Guest Speakers:

2:00 to 3:00 pm SPC Shanna Price, Fort Mabry

4:00 to 5:00 pm Bobbi Dansen, retired US Navy and Girl Scout

Each of these speakers will give information on the military bases in Texas, where US Troops are serving (the same places that the cookies are going) and give the girls a chance to ask questions. In addition to this information, individual speakers will provide more specialized information.
